Something I Wrote #2

This is this the next part to my little short story I have been writing!

Over the next couple weeks I went with them to the ice cream shop every day after school. I learned my way around school and the town and was finally settled in. It felt like...home. A stretch, but a good one. I never had an accident. Well no I had a little one...
It was history class and Mr. Hill was boring as all hell and I was falling asleep. He caught me. He made such a big deal over a little nap and it made me a little mad. I might have moved a chalk duster to hit him in the face with my mind. No one knew it was me or noticed it for that matter, but it did happen and I promised myself it couldn't happen again.
Millie and Kevin grew to become my closest friends and well, my only friends ever. As time went on I didn't know whether to tell them about who I really am. They knew my parents fears and resented me and they got a hint that I wasn't exactly normal, but never would guess in a million years that the supernatural is real right next to them.

~

I look at the old clock on the wall of the ice cream shop; 4:30. "Oh shoot, I got to go guys," I said getting up from my seat and gathering my stuff. I need to go practice my powers. Not need, want. I have been using them a lot lately and it has been helping me control myself in the real world.
"Do you really need to go?" Kevin asked.
I stop at the door and turn to look at the two. "Yes I do. My parents want me home by five and I like to be early." I look at their unpleased faces, especially Millie's. They say bye and I walk out.
A minute later Millie runs out after me. "Hey David, what's really wrong?" She asks me. I don't know what to say. "I see you walking into those woods everyday when you say you are going home."
I can't say anything. Does she know? Has she seen me practice?
 "David, you can tell me."
"I really can't, you wouldn't understand its just-"
 "Is it your parents?"
"No. It's not them. It's bigger than that it's hard to explain. Maybe another time, I have to go." I don't let her stop me. I quickly walk away.
And here I am walking into the woods, practically crying from turning Millie away. I wish I can tell her and Kevin. I just can't. What kind of friend am I that I can't tell them what is really wrong?
I put my emotions into my power. I blow some rocks up and dig up a small tree or two. Ten minutes go by as fast as Kevin eats his ice cream after school. Twenty. Thirty. I take out my frustration into the landscape. I control me. Not my powers.
Right as I think I'm in total control, I hear a snap of a twig. Not from me. Not an animal. I turn around and see Millie slapping Kevin.
"Dumbass he's going to hear us!" She yells over a whisper to Kevin.
"To late," Kevin says staring at me.
"How long have you two been there?" I say out of fear.
"David," Millie says, "this is brilliant!"
 "What?"
"I mean you can do brilliant stuff. Is this what you have been running off to do? How long could you do this? How can you-wait...WHY have you told us?"

Diamonds

On July 17th, 1955, Disneyland opened its gates for the first time; 60 years later, those gates are still opened. May 22nd, 2015, Disneyland's Diamond Celebration kicked off with a 24 hour event, and yesterday, September 5th, 2016, the diamonds took their curtain call, as the celebration ended. The celebration touched so many people, including me. It brought so much to my life and I will always remember the sparkling diamonds on top of Sleeping Beauty Castle. I get to say that I was one of the first guest to ever see the Paint the Night Parade as well as the Disneyland Forever Fireworks. I met so many amazing people during the diamond celebration and made so many memories.
The Diamond Celebration brought so much to Disneyland and as of yesterday, took so much away. Paint the Night dazzled this last year and will return but only seasonally. Disneyland Forever made its last night as it showed its colors for the last night ever with Fantasy in the Sky taking over on friday. World of Color Celebrate also ended, but made a quick return to its original show for tonight. All of these shows brought me and so many others so much joy and so many tears.
The last day of diamonds was bittersweet, but will be remembered by everyone who was there. As diamonds left the stage, a new breath of frightfully fun decor went up as the park is being decorated for the fall season and most notably for Halloween. It is a good way to let everyone off the diamond celebration easily as the whole park is transformed away from the diamond decor we've all known to love. I will remember those amazing diamonds forever.
